What is included in the Mobile Phone Coverage?

Mobile Phone Coverage is part of our Preferred and Advantage checking accounts. It covers accidental damage, mechanical failure and theft:

  1. Applies to all mobile phones owned by the primary account holder
  2. No pre-registration required
  3. Includes cracked screens, liquid spills, burglary and robbery
  4. Pays up to $500 minus a $50 deductible. The repair of your phone is limited to the "current value" of the phone. Reimbursement is determined for the current replacement value of a like kind and quality device (minus the deductible). NXG will either repair or replace the device, whichever is lesser cost of the two. If you decide to replace your phone, your device will be requested for salvage. If you decide to repair your device, the amount issued will equal the salvage amount of the device and the difference would need to be covered out of pocket.
  5. Two claims per consecutive 12-month period
  6. Coverage for damage begins the first day of the calendar month following the benefit effective date; coverage for theft begins on the benefit effective date.
  7. Damages that occur during the waiting period are not covered
