Getting Started
To begin investing, you’ll first open a brokerage account with InvestiFi Securities LLC. From the home screen, select Create Account, answer a few questions, review the required agreements, and submit your application. Once approved, you can start investing right away. InvestiFi Securities accounts are held and cleared by RQD* Clearing LLC.
How to Buy a Stock or ETF
From the home screen, select Invest or open the asset’s details page. Choose the checking account you want to use, then enter either a dollar amount or number of shares. You’ll see a preview of your order before confirming. Once submitted, your order is sent for execution and your shares will appear in your portfolio shortly after the trade completes.
How to Sell a Stock or ETF
To sell, select Trade from the home screen or access the asset’s details page. Enter the dollar amount or number of shares you want to sell and choose where the proceeds should be deposited. After reviewing the order summary and fees, confirm the trade. Sale proceeds are deposited into your account after the trade settles.
Order Types Available
At this time, all trades are placed as market orders, meaning they are executed at the best available price during market hours. Market orders typically execute quickly but don’t guarantee a specific price. Trades can only be placed when markets are open, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on non-holiday weekdays.
Minimum Investment Amounts
You can buy fractional shares starting at just $1. There is no minimum amount required to sell shares.
Viewing Your Portfolio Value
Your total portfolio value is shown on the home screen. To see details for a specific investment, select the asset from your portfolio list to view its current value, performance, and price history.
When Trades Appear in Your Account
Buy orders usually appear in your portfolio within minutes. For sell orders, cash proceeds are typically available within one to two business days after execution.
Understanding Gains and Returns
- Gains reflect how much an investment has increased or decreased since purchase.
- Returns include gains plus any dividends earned.
You can view both on the asset details page.
Tracking Performance Over Time
Performance charts allow you to view results across different timeframes, such as one day, one month, one year, or longer. Simply adjust the date filter on the chart.
Searching for Investments
Use the search feature on the portfolio screen to explore available stocks and ETFs.
Viewing Transactions
All transactions can be found on the Transactions page. You can also view transaction history for a specific investment directly from that asset’s details page.
Transaction Statuses
Each transaction includes a status showing whether it’s pending, completed, or settled. These details are available in your transaction history.
Can Orders Be Canceled?
Because trades are placed as market orders, they generally can’t be canceled once submitted.
Trading Limitations
- Trades must be funded with available cash
- Asset-to-asset trades are not supported
- After-hours trading is not available
- Recently purchased assets can’t be sold until funds settle (typically 1–2 business days)
Statements and Documents
Quarterly and annual statements are available in the Documents section of the app.
Receiving Sale Proceeds
Once a trade settles, proceeds are automatically transferred to your linked checking or savings account.

Who Is Eligible to Trade?
Only account holders over the age of 18 and in good standing with the financial institution can buy, sell, or hold assets. Trust Account Holders and Commercial Accounts are not supported. Account holders residing in TX, ID, or NY are unable to trade.
