Moving money between your Truity accounts and accounts at other financial institutions is simple, secure, and free. With external transfers, you can manage all your finances in one place—whether you’re making a loan payment, sending part of your paycheck to Truity, or scheduling regular transfers to build your savings. Everything is handled safely through Digital Banking, giving you flexibility and peace of mind.
How to Set Up an External Transfer in Digital Banking
On Desktop
- Log in to Digital Banking
- Click your profile picture or initials (top right)
- Select Settings
- Choose + Add Account > Set up external transfer account
- Enter your external account information and Submit
- Wait 1–3 business days for two small deposits to arrive in your external account
- Once the deposits appear, go back to Settings > External transfers and confirm the amounts within 10 days
- After verification, schedule a one-time or recurring transfer
- ⚠️ Transfers between institutions usually take 3–5 business days to complete
On the Mobile App
- Log in to the Truity app
- From the left-hand menu, tap Accounts
- Tap + in the top right corner and select Make external transfers
- Enter your external account information and Submit
- Wait 1–3 business days for two small deposits to arrive in your external account
- Once the deposits appear, go to Main Menu (☰) > [Your Name] > Settings > External transfers and confirm the amounts within 10 days
- After verification, schedule a one-time or recurring transfer
- ⚠️ Transfers between institutions usually take 3–5 business days to complete
Verifying Your External Account
When you add an external account, we’ll send two small deposits to confirm ownership:
- Where to check: Log in to your external bank or credit union and note the two deposit amounts (arrive in 1–3 business days)
- Where to verify in Digital Banking:
- Desktop: Go to Settings > External Accounts
- Mobile App: Go to Main Menu (☰) > [Your Name] > Settings > External transfers
- Deadline: You’ll have 10 days to confirm the deposits. If not, you may need to reinitiate.
- Acknowledgement: By confirming, you acknowledge you have legal access to the account.
Making a Loan Payment via External Transfer
To make a payment to a Truity loan from an external account:
- Select Transfer in Digital Banking
- Choose From: your other financial institution
- Choose To: your Truity loan
- Enter the amount and Submit
- ⚠️ Loan payments from an external account usually take 3–5 business days to process
Setting Up Automatic Loan Payments (ACH Drafts)
If you’d like your loan payment to be withdrawn automatically each month (without scheduling transfers in Digital Banking), you’ll need to complete a one-time ACH Authorization Form with Truity.
