Highlights: Transylvania, Bucharest, Constanta, Vidin and Baba Vida Fortress, Belgrade, Osijek, Budapest. Set sail from Bucharest, Romania to Budapest, Hungary. Explore the Old City of Constanta, a Romanian port on the Black Sea and then sail into the Danube-Black Sea Canal, a 40-mile engineering marvel. This will be a wonderful trip.
As part of your main program, you’ll see Bucharest’s attractions on an included city tour. Then, transfer to the Carpathian Mountains and the town of Sinaia, Transylvania.
Discover Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, with highlights including Kalemegdan, the oldest part of the city; the Town Hall; and St. Sava Orthodox Cathedral—one f the world’s largest. You’ll also visit Tito’s Memorial, erected for President Josip Broz Tito, who bolstered Yugoslavia’s prosperity in the midst of the Cold War.
See the impressive Heroes’ Square in Pest, with monuments to the Hungarian kings, and St. Stephens Cathedral. Then cross the Danube to Buda and visit Castle Hill, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
