Supporting Ukranian Credit Union Members
When the people of Ukraine voted for independence in 1991, the World Council of Credit Unions assisted the formation of credit unions to serve the financial needs of consumers who desired locally owned financial institutions.
The World Council has been assisting the Ukrainian credit unions since then by providing regulatory and developmental support for over 30 years.
The World Council has established the Ukrainian Credit Union Displacement Fund through their Foundation. Many credit unions and credit union associations are making donations and having fundraisers to support credit union members that have been displaced by the invasion of Ukraine. Our employees of Truity Credit Union are holding an internal staff event in early April to encourage donations to the Displacement Fund.
If you wish to make a donation to the Ukrainian Credit Union Displacement Fund, please visit the Worldwide Credit Union Foundation’s website at www.doglobalgood.org. The fund has already made distributions of humanitarian aide to refugee sites through the credit union association in Poland.
Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the people of Ukraine and all those affected by this tragedy.
