Mackinaw City is our destination, and getting there is half the fun! Leslie has planned this trip from beginning to end—all you have to do is sit back and relax!
Here’s how you’ll enjoy the ride. Along the way we’ll stop for meals in fun restaurants, ride to the top of The Gateway Arch in St. Louis, visit President Lincoln’s home and tomb in Springfield, IL, and even take a winery tour and tasting in Michigan’s wine country.
We’ll stay in Mackinaw City, Michigan, four nights. Unpack and make yourself at home! Enjoy lakeside rooms, each with a private balcony and a gorgeous view of Lake Huron.
We’ll explore Mackinaw City and nearby Mackinac Island and learn about Colonial history. Private trolley tours, Lighthouses, British & American military outposts, an Island Horse Drawn Carriage tour, Grand Hotel luncheon, Forts, and much, much more, will allow us to experience a bygone era.
You’ll come to love Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island for their laid-back pace, proximity to beautiful Lake Huron, history and natural outdoor beauty. It’s impossible to leave without feeling more relaxed and rejuvenated!
We’ll head for home with an overnight stay at Majestic Star Casino for a turn at your luck, a break at a Cheese Farm, a stop at Chesapeake House for some fabulous seafood, a tour of Anheuser Busch Brewery, and a stop to view the famous Murals in Cuba, Missouri.
