Lawrence, Kan. – Truity Credit Union Branch Manager Kaylee Johnston was recently recognized as a Department of Defense Patriotic Employer. Johnston was nominated for this award by Airman First Class Jayce Donnelly, an Air National Guardsman with the 190th Air Refueling Wing.
The Patriotic Employer Award recognizes individual supervisors for their efforts to support employees serving in the National Guard or Reserve, including flexible schedules, extra time off, and leaves of absence if necessary.
Diane B. Boeger and retired Army Col. George Pogge presented the award to Johnston on behalf of Donnelly, who is currently deployed in Qatar.
“We are thankful for bosses like Kaylee and all the employees of Truity Credit Union because they give the kind of support needed to our service members that allows them to serve and keep our nation protected,” said Boeger.
“I am honored to accept this award,” Johnston said. “We are so proud of Jayce, and will continue to do whatever we can to support him as he serves our nation while pursuing his career here at Truity.”
Johnston graduated from KU School of Business in 2014 and has been with Truity Credit Union for nine years, previously serving as teller, member consultant, lead member consultant and senior member consultant. She volunteers with Junior Achievement and Douglas County Toys for Tots.
Truity Credit Union serves 70,000 members worldwide and has assets of $690 million. They offer personal checking and savings accounts as well as competitive business loans for almost any purpose.
