This once-in-a-lifetime trip features a 4-night cruise on the captivating Yangtze River. We’ll start our trip with three days in Shanghai, the economic capital of the People’s Republic of China. Visit the Shanghai Museum and a silk factory. Next, we’ll fly to Hubei province and board our ship for the cruise on the Yangtze River. We’ll take tai chi lessons and sail into the dramatic Xiling Gorge, the longest of the Three Gorges. We’ll enjoy a short ride up the Shennong Stream in traditional pea boats, and see the mystical city of Fengdu, home of 48 distinctive temples. After the cruise, we’ll fly to the ancient city of Xian, visit the city wall and the excavation site of the Terracotta Warriors. Here, we’ll also visit one of the world’s most famous Buddhist temples, the Wild Goose Pagoda. Later, we’ll fly to Beijing and visit Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Treasure Hall and the Great Wall. We’ll also visit Olympic Park and attend the Peking Opera.
